Hey there and im looking to connect my Macbook Pro to an older tv that does not support HDMI.
The TV has RCA and Component.
I have googled and did some research online looking up ways to do this and here's what I've got.
Macbook Minidisplay > VGA > Component

All of the posts on google are from 2005-2008 about this and half say that it works and the other half say it doesn't.

Can anyone from 2013 confirm this or lead me in the right direction.

*What about MiniDisplay > HDMI > Component?*

Thanks

Just a couple of days ago there was a poster/User here with the same setup, he could not get it to work.

Maybe the same person ;)

I've tried figuring this out for a family member before.. nothing was working.

I ended up just buying a tv with HDMI, problem solved haha.
