Wouldn't it be cool if apple were to go with the new iMac aesthetic, nix the internal thunderbolt hub/fw/gbE/speakers and make a thin, cheaper 27" monitor for those who don't care about the extra stuff?
I imagine the price savings from not having the thunderbolt gear would make it considerably cheaper, and an attractive alternative to those that don't need the power or expansion options, like if you have an iMac or a Mac Pro.
