Why Does The Music Folder Arrange Contents Differently Than Other Folders

Normally when you select the bottom label position the folder are organized horizontally across the screen and vertically if you select labels to the right. The exception seems to be the home music folder, the contents display themselves vertically with either option.

Is there a reason for this?

I'll take your word for it, as your image does not illustrate the behavior. I'm curious to see if that holds true on my Mac (10.5.8). But, if there's a reason for it, I imagine it's known only by a few Apple programmers.
