Updating Boot Support Partitions

I ran a repair on the drive in my iMac. Disk Utility says it was repaired successfully and now says "Updating boot support partitions for the volume as required". How long should I expect this to take? It has been sitting there for quite some time and doesn't appear to be doing anything.
