Tiger--Mouse issue

My external Mouse tracking resets back to the fastest setting whenever I restart or unplug and replug the mouse. It's been this way in Tiger since day #1. I was hoping 10.4.3 would fix this, but it hasn't.

I have no problem with the trackpad.

1 Gz TiPb using logitech cordless Mouseman optical. I tried reinstalling the logotech software to no avail.

Any ideas? Thanks!
