Although I think this is more than a little suspicious, think about this for a moment:

Apple wants to make serious inroads into the server/enterprise market.

A lot of IT types don't see Apple as a serious enterprise company.

NeXT, now that's another matter.

Say Apple brands it's enterprise boxes as NeXT machines, the IT types are happy, Apple is happy...

(Crude Analogy is happy that someone believed him for a second...)
