I have my mid-2009 iMac in my office on the first floor with the Apple BT keyboard and mouse. I ran a 25 foot HDMI cable to my second floor connected to a monitor, along with a second set of the Apple BT keyboard and mouse. The range of BT is barely enough to reach the second floor; the keyboard up there works fine but the Magic Mouse is a little jerky.

I was thinking of running a long USB cable (with appropriate booster) to my second floor and using one of those BT host adapters such as the IOGear GBU521. Problem is, I want to keep the internal iMac bluetooth radio active as well so the keyboard and mouse on the first floor will remain connected at the same time.

Anyone successfully running two simultaneous bluetooth host adapters in their Mac?
