Will I lose all my apps when jailbreak?

I want to re-jailbreak my third generation iPod Touch. However, with many apps in the app store requiring iOS6 for certain applications, will I be unable to download those apps again? Currently, I have some apps such as Google Current on my iPod Touch, but the new update require iOS 6. If I jailbreak, is there any way to backup my apps (like the file itself) to prevent re-installation from the App Store?

It won't remove all your apps if you jailbreak.

That's weird. I remember than when I jailbroke, I lost all my apps. Anyways, even if I don't lose my apps, if I restore it back to the original, un-jailbroken version, my apps will still be gone.

The point is, how do I backup the applications files (not the list of applications) so that I don't even have to reinstall it from iTunes/iCloud? It's not the re-installation that's troublesome, it's just that apps are starting to require iOS 6, and I don't want to lose certain apps just because of this restriction.

when I jailbroke my iPhone 5 a few moths ago, nothing was altered except the addition of the Cydia icon. Still a good idea to do a backup before you jailbreak though.

Ok. Thanks for advice.

Most importantly though, the point is, is it possible to backup applications (like the actual files themselves) so that i do not have to download them again. Many new apps impose restriction, saying app requires iOS 6, and if I need to download them again, well pretty much, I can't do so, and I will lose access to that app.

As fo that I do not know because I have never stumbled upon any situations of that sort.

All you have to do is sync the iPod to a computer so the apps go on to the computer, then make sure you do NOT update any of the apps on the the iPod or the computer. When you decide you don't want the jailbreak any more restore through iTunes and then sync all the apps back to your iPod.

Important Note: Make sure the computer does NOT have a newer version of your apps on iTunes before you sync, if it does they will update on the iPod and you will no longer have the old app files.

When I jailbroke the only thing that changed is a Cydia icon appeared on my springboard.

It's generally iOS6 that is providing the functionality for the apps requiring iOS6.
The programmer doesn't restrict the app to a later iOS version for no reason,
or to be a prick, that would be stupid, the app would get less exposure.
It's not happening, you don't get to cheat it that way.
