What is the little button on the bottom of the Front Row remote?

It's the battery tray. (What, you thought it ran on good thoughs? ;-) ) You push the little button, the battery tray slides out, you replace the battery, you slide it back in.

What kind of battery does it take?

I thought it maybe recharged like those sonicare toothbrushes while it was attached to the side of the iMac...
