Anyway, I would have said it is not worth it unless you actually have a similar model which it can be used for parts.

If you try to restore something like that from scratch, and throw in parts, labour, postage etc (and all the parts you buy but do not use in trying to fix it) you start to get close to the entry level price of a current Mac mini.
