IPHONE 5 QUESTION? Debate?

Hello everybody i have an iphone 5 from the apple store a refurbished unit. I activated on cricket ( biggest mistake) thought would be much better since low cost of 50 a month. The model number is believed to be compatible with Verizon and sprint, my model number is A1429. Big question is ,Would it be able to be used in the united states on Verizon network? If there is any alternative to his solution or suggestions you have Tried successfully comment below .

Update i called up apple at the toll free number
Gave the apple associate my serial number he says quote " we never registered your iPhone 5 by the serial number" declaring that my iPhone 5 is inactive. Which is redounded as I'm currently using on cricket wireless in the united states?
