How to install Mountain Lion on a Partition with Mavericks as main OS

As the title says, I am wondering how I can install 10.8 to a separate partition than my partition with Mavericks on it (which is my main OS).....I would rather do it without a USB drive or DVD if possible, I'm DL'ing the installer from the app store right now. Thanks for any help!
