So most of us know about Micromac http://www.micromac.com/ and how they used to make mac accelerators. Also they were selling them at least into the early 2000's. According to an article online they sold all their remaining stock to a company in Japan that no longer has any... well I didn't really believe that and started searching.

I started by doing a whois on micromac.com and found out Achim Strupat is paying for it. After this I was able to look up that Achim Strupat now owns ACHIM STRUPAT ENTERPRISES in California. Upon looking that business up I found that they own mac upgrade specialists that is located at the same spot in california. http://www.macupgradespecialists.com/

This website had a new phone number to try so I called it and talked to Hans. he told me that they still have some mac accelerators and I asked him about getting a performer model for my mac se. After a minute of searching he told me that he still has some with the FPU and without the FPU. :D yeay!

So then I ordered a performer model se accelerator brand new from micromac with software shipped to me from him at Macupgrade Specialists. If anyone wants any accelerator made by micromac I would advise you contact him at 949-234-1870 and see if he has the model you want left. I was also able to get him to give me a lower price on the accelerator then what he was asking for it.

When I told him that people are actually interested in this stuff he was surprised and didn't know anyone would buy them. He also told me that the company micromac is broken. I didn't really have time to ask him anything else but I figured I would let you guys know while he still has some left.

It's in

Today I got my Performer accelerator for mac SE. It has a 16Mhz 68030 cpu and has a socket for a 25Mhz fpu. I am currently buying a 68882 25Mhz on ebay and will install it when it gets in. I got my item in only a few days and it came brand new sealed in the bag with the owners manual and 800k floppy driver disk. I was easily able to install it on the PDS slot and I can notice significant speed increases. :D I am going to have to upgrade my mac os to 7.1 as it is not supposed to be compatible with 7.0.1 but it seems to work? It lists compatibility with the PLUS Classic and se. Due to it using a 68030 with a built in MMU it allows for up to 16MB of special ram to be used and if I can find some it would be a nice upgrade from 4MB...

"No escape from Reality...”
My LC II from back in the day has a Micromac(?) accelerator in it doubling the CPU speed - just a plug in, no OS Extension needed. Was awesome. Hope I kept the box and papers for it...

Those are the exact same people who made ram doubler and speed doubler. Compact virtual 3.0.2 can be found around the web but needs a serial number. It's abandonware but serials are hard to get.
