I would check. If it is legally bought and you can get to an Apple store they will service it. And you can enter the serial number online to check the status I'm pretty sure.

It probably will function but I would use assistive whatever it is instead of it so that you don't break it if you ever really need it.

hmm , i thought its only cosmetic . Unfortunately we have no apple store in our country .
