When I took the back plate off of my iPhone 4S to clean it, this plastic film ring around the camera was hanging off of it. It was clearly attached in the beginning with some sort of adhesive but had worn off over the years. Is this necessary in any way to the operation / maintenance of the phone? It seems kind of pointless and I'm not sure how to replace it if it is, but I'm just curious if anyone knows anything about it.

Mine has this too (the screws in the bottom fell out a while ago) so the little plastic ring around the flash came off. I think it serves no purpose.
