Chimera 0.6.0 build

Many useful features and fixes have been added since Chimera 0.6 was released. We encourage you to download and use the nightly build from 20 December. New features and fixes include the following:

* Improved stability (more crash fixes)
* Shockwave Director content displays now
* Improved RealPlayer support
* You can add buttons for New Tab and Close Tab to the toolbar
* Added Send Link to the File menu, with optional toolbar button
* Files are automatically downloaded now, with no Save dialog. In addition, you can turn on a preference (see the Downloads panel under Navigation preferences) to automatically dispatch downloads to helper applications.
* Added a Global History tab in Sidebar, with improved performance
* Added an Export Bookmarks item (on the Manage Bookmarks submenu)
* You can now convert bookmarks folders to tab groups, and vice versa, via the Bookmarks Info panel
* Added support for Bookmark keywords
* You can set a bookmarks folder to be visible on Dock menu (Mac OS X 10.2 only)
* Page Setup now works (still issues on 10.1.x)
* Added support for the Services Menu (e.g. you can now Speak the selected text via Services)
* The Shared Menus protocol is now supported (so Chimera is now compatible with URL Manager Pro)
* Chimera now supports Proxy auto-config (PAC), enabled via a hidden preference
* Rendezvous support was added, allowing you to see local servers (for OS X 10.2.3 and later, enabled via a hidden preference)

Sounds great, 0.6 rocks and this sounds like it should be even better! Thanks.

[edit]
I can't seem to access the nightly directory, I am trying to access ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/chimera/nightly/latest-trunk/ , is this correct? Can anyone else access it? I've tried in Chimera and IE.

[edit 2]
I have the full URL ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/chimera/ni...Chimera.dmg.gz but it still doesn't want to download Anyone else having any luck?

Same here, no problems.

I use ChimeraKnight 1.8.1 and would highly recommend it for those who download the nightly builds. It makes it so much easier.

chimera crash

Have other people had problems with Chimera unexpectedly quitting on Aint it Cool News?

If they fixed that, I would use only Chimera.

Chimera rules even more now

The main new cool thing is that Chimera now supports tab groups so I can have a single bookmark in my toolbar that simultaneously opens all the different news sites I read in different tabs. I haven't really noticed a change in stability - it still crashes now and then, but so does IE. Its the browser I use 95% of the time (still need IE for some stuff).

Wow - didn't even know about tab groups! Now I've got a Fantasy Football group that opens the 3 sites I use to do research for my team. Ultra cool!

Thanks for the tip JINX!

does anyone know if chimera works with TitanTv.com ? i read that if you have a digital video recorder you must use internet explorer because only ie can use the links in titan tv.

i check the site out. everything looks good in chimera. but since i dont have a formac studio dv/tv or eyetv i cant test the feature.

anyone with eyetv or a formac who can test chimera?

if i have to use ie, i dont think it is worth purchasing one of these devices.

download manager

the latest builds of chimera now have a revamped download window that is basically a download manager. multiple download windows snap to each other.

i dont like the enw download manager. very messy. also occasionally when you clcik a weblink it downloads it, and opens the file in dreamweaver. the old method was much better, but perhaps with some polishing the current download manager will be something more than an annoyance.
