HOw do you clean the metal sides of the iphone 5 ? I have been using an incipio dual case and it can get quite dirty on the side.

yes.
take your right (or left) thumb.
place it on the edge of your chosen side (of the iphone)
swipe across, until clean.

Much depends on what the dirt is. I would "slightly" moisten a towel with Windex. It will remove most of the dirt and oils transfered from your hands.
Don't rub too hard!!
The actual chamfer as well as the anodizing has gone off mine just being in my trouser pocket!!
