2012 or 2013 Haswell Air?

Been offered a new sealed 2012 13" MacBook Air 128GB 4 GB Ram for 600, or should I get a new Haswell model 256GB with 8GB Ram for 1040?
Not doing anything heavy on it, surfing watching movies and light gaming whilst away from home.

Do you really need 10+ hours battery life? For light use, 4/128 and 8/256 both would be enough

Haswell if u wanna watch movies and light gaming away from home. Its way worth it, the air will last u 3-5 hours whereas haswell will push that up to more than double and its better in terms of price gain benefit

Here's the thing about battery life. No one thinks they need the 10 hours or whatever. But when they get it, they never look back. It really changes your daily routine for the better and really reduces a lot of stress on your part.

I like the idea of saving on a 2012 but those specs would give me pause. The 8GB/256GB gives the right combo of flexibility and longevity to make the extra cost justifiable.
