I have been waiting for this news to go public. The iPhone will never be able to get these sort of contracts until Apple allows for similar partitioned and encrypted data with manipulative software.
This is just the beginning though. Samsung is about to get a lot more gov't contracts. Knox was a good move on their part. Apple is just giving these contracts away by keeping their archaic corporate model. If they allowed for gov't entities to alter the code for contracted software and signed NDA's, the US gov't would use nothing but I phones and iPads.

Android/Google have also been working with the army and making weapon/mobile devices using an encrypted form of android for solders in the battle field.

Android also has selinux source code built into it from the us government and the gs4 is the first phone to use it also
 
What's so surprising about that? AFAIK the US has no beef with South Korea.
