Possible to sync calendars but not notes across devises?

My wife and I each have an iPhone and an ipad. Is there a way to sync our calendars but not our notes between our devices--with or without separate icloud accounts?

Go to settings>iCloud> and turn OFF notes. This stops the notes app from syncing with iCloud
