I have several programs that start on their own when I boot my Mac. I checked the preferences for the programs, though I do not see any options for disabling this. Where in Mac OS can I disable programs from auto starting?

Thanks.

Open System Preferences then go to Users & Groups and after selecting your username click the login items button. You should see a list of auto start apps there.

If that does not kill off all the apps, this article lists some alternative launch methods.
