Hello,

I am setting up an iMac with Mountain Lion for my son. He's just learning about computers and only uses certain apps. I'm obviously only putting what he would use in the dock but also I realized that LaunchPad just kind of throws everything in there. It seems it's possible to rearrange the apps/screens like on an iPhone. What I don't see is a way to remove certain apps from the Launchpad screens. It seems to even put some apps on there that are not even actual apps.
Is there anyway to remove items from LaunchPad? In a worse case if there isn't is it possible for me to remove LaunchPad completely from the system?
Thanks!

I think you can use Parental Controls to make only certain apps available. That may be your best option. This may or may not include LaunchPad, depending on whether it shows only the allowed apps.
