Found this beauty locally on CL (from a really nice seller) for $250.00.

Quad-core 2.5 / 7GB ram / OSX 10.5 / Stock Nvidia 256GB card / 250GB HD.
Even has original box and inserts.

It runs perfectly and amazing enough the original HD not only still works
(at least for now) but survived disc utilities and disc warrior repairs.
As expected it's pretty filthy inside...
the radiator and fans were completely entombed in their own massive dust/hair balls.

I'm going to give her a thorough cleaning,
put in a fresh HD and system install and upgrade the ram to 16GB.

She's being added to the ever growing collection of PowerPC's:
(Don't ask me why because it doesn't make sense to me either)

Powermacs:

1 Dual 1.8Ghz/8gb ram/stock 64MB card
2 Dual 2.0Ghz's/8gb ram each/Radeon XT800 and XT800 cards)
1 Quad-core 2.5/going to have fun upgrading

Imac
1.25Ghz 20 inch "lamp"/2 GB ram

Can I get an ID on the Cooling system from an expert out there.
All appears to be intact and completely leak-free.

Enclosed are some shots:

Nevermind on the ID of cooling system.
I looked up the serial# and it's from November 2005
(pretty early in the production run).

Guess it's has one of those crappy first gen LCS.
It all looks brand new and leak-free, so guess I've lucked out....

She's set-up (post cleansing) and running. Will post a shot later.

Sitting pretty and all ready for the prom

She's all back together again and been humming along for about 4 hours or so.
Temps are nice and cool and this has to be the quietest G5 I've ever (not) heard.
Think this is the first one of these old gals I've purchased
that ran so flawlessy right out of the gate...

Ram has been ordered up and now I have to do is figure out some tasks
for the old girl to perform....

Apologies about the giddy post but guess...I'm just feelin'...giddy:)

That is an awesome score for sure! I just got mine as well for $200 about 3 weeks ago and absolutely loving it. Just replaced the stock dual 500 GB HDDs with 1TB HDDs that I took from external enclosures. I got 16GB RAM from OWC and I love this machine.

My PPC collection however is getting smaller at this point. I just got rid of my 12" iBook G4 and now have the PM, an iMac G5, and my 14" iBook G4.

I think it's awesome that you got one with the original box and inserts! I've been looking for one ever since I got mine but seriously doubt that someone will just happen to hold onto the box. We'll see.

Anyway, that's awesome that you have the Quad! Have fun with it!

I think this is great, I have always wanted to own a G5 to tinker around with. Maybe some day when I have extra cash I will. Looks good!!

If it hasn't leaked in the last 13 years, it's unlikely it'll leak now. It's probably a good one.
