Facebook notifications question

I have an iPad and iPhone on iOS 6..It is iphone 4s and 2012 version iPad. I have noticed for the last month that facebook notifications about friends posting links etc are coming through days later. They appear on the 2 machines at the same time just days later.

Anyone know why?

Did you try logging out of Facebook on both devices?
And did you try reinstalling the apps?
