Interesting. According to THIS, Nokia's luxury brand at one time used it limitedly, but Apple is going to attempt to make it mass-producible.

I often wondered if those Vertu phones are any more smatter than an iPhone.

I always wondered what these people do with their $5,000 gold-plated, $50,000 diamond-encrusted phones after the 18 month obsolescence period. Unload them on eBay? :D

Is anyone even buying these contraptions? Or are they like "concept cars" - to be strutted out to grab attention at industry shows and on media - but never to be sold.

The entire liquid metal ordeal won't make it anytime soon. It is IMO, in a beta test right now and when first reported it was still being modified in an alpha test stage.

Lets wait so that all manufacturing quirks are resolved (avoiding a potential bottleneck).

Agree! Those Vertu phones are such a waste. They wreak pretentious; "I'm so rich." I've seen them only in display cases at Tourneau and have yet to see anyone flaunt it.
