The Broaddwell MBP looks to be an excellent upgrade, especially for GPU performance.

- Maxwell NVIDA GPU offers 2 times more performance per watt than the Kepler Architecture which are for example the 650m & 750m card. (expected in March 2014)

- Thunderbolt 2 (expected end of 2013)

- Intel Broadwel 14nm CPU's which has lower TDP and power consumption over Haswell. (expected 2nd half of 2014)

Do you know of any difference between your feb '13 pro vs oct '12 pro?

What was the killer price? Considering oct '12 13" rMBP 128ssd for $1249 refurb. Good deal?

I got a Feb. 2013 15" rMBP 2.7ghz/16GB RAM/512GB SSD for $1900 brand new. To me, this beats paying full price even for Haswell any day.

Just picked up a new MBP Retina 15 2.7, 16GB, 512GB SSD etc and I'll run that for the next 6 months and then hand it down to my business partner and buy myself the version after this years next release. :D

I'm really not sure of the difference...I just wanted to be most up to date on the model. I upgraded from a mid-2009 MBP and I like to buy and sell every few years, to avoid it's worth decreasing.

I got the top of the line 15" rMBP (2.7 Ghz i7, 16GB RAM, 500GB SSD) for $2,300. Brand new. I'm sure I could have found a deal just like it for the 2012 model, or even a better deal on this one...but I didn't want to wait any longer. In the end, I saved over $700 since I did not pay CA sales tax on it.

Yep! Going to finally make the switch to a Mac (after an unsuccessful attempt a few years ago with an iMac), and I think a Haswell MBP is going to be the machine for me! Just gotta wait for some news on when they're coming out!

Do you think they will let us have 16gb of ram in the 13 inch mac book? Waiting on Haswell while waiting for Broadwell!

There is no way Apple will put a discrete GPU in the Broadwell MBPs. The integrated GPU for Broadwell is rumored to be 40% faster than than for Haswell. The integrated GPUs for Haswell are probably already fast enough to ditch the discrete GPU from the 15" MBP as Apple have already done for the 13" MBP.

It looks like Thunderbolt 2 probably will be included in the Broadwell MBPs.

Quad-core CPUs in the 13" MBP is the best reason I can think of for possibly waiting for Broadwell. There is also a chance the 15" Broadwell MBPs might have a 32GB option.

When do you all think we will be seeing DDR4 MBPs?
Either 2014 or 2015.

Interest news released 2 days ago, Broadwell at 14nm is 30% more energy efficient than Haswell.

http://news.softpedia.com/news/14nm...e-Efficient-than-Haswell-in-Demo-382323.shtml

So to summarize. The Broadwell MBP will have:
- 100% faster GPU performance from NVIDIA
- 30% more energy efficient CPU than Haswell (thus alot more efficient than Ivy Bridge )
- Thunderbolt 2.0
- Possible DDR4 if we are lucky.

This is the MBP you are looking for, not Haswell with integrated graphics.

Would you amazing-deal-finding bozos care to share your sources for ~$2K 512GB/16GB machines? I'd buy one in a second if I could find a deal like that in my area...!

And apologies to the thread starter--I can barely bring myself to wait for Haswell, let alone Broadwell! ;)
