Just lost it a few hours ago. Lodged a police complaint but I cant that it will be recovered. I'm thinking I'll buy an Iphone 4. Can I restore the data from my latest Iphone 5 iCloud backup to the new Iphone 4 which I'm going to buy?

Why would you want an iPhone 4 unless you can get one extremely cheap?

Depending on how much you had on your phone, the cloud will restore it quicker on WiFi. I like to back up on my computer via iTunes AND use the cloud. Restoring on the computer only takes minutes.

Do not know what data plan you have but do not let it restore via the cloud via cellular:eek:

I'm confused, why wouldn't you be able to?

I live in India and seldom do police follow up on such complaints.

What if find my iphone takes you to an apartment? What would you do then?

If it takes you to a house, can you get the police to search/question the owners of the home?

If the SIM is removed or switched on, the phone is going to ask for a passcode which the thief does not know. Most likely he will wipe it and restore it as new.
