Dear all,
I finally bought a (second hand) macbook with OS X 10.6.8 on the internet.
I was really happy when it finally arrived, but the mac seems to be from a school...
I tried login in on the main user, but i don't know the username and the password. I can go into "Student", but I can't save anything, or change any personal settings..
I also tried to go into single mode, with cmd S, but nothing happens.
I don't have a disc..
Is there any way to reset the mac to factory settings?
Please help!!
Thanks

Apple walled garden
Try to restart then press and hold option right before the startup chime. Press recovery HD and the arrow under it. Start takes a bit longer; Then re-install mac os x. Do it ask for a apple id? then reboot again and holde command+option+r before the startup chime (press and hold) you will see a spinning globe at the center. i don't know ffurther instructions cuz my macbook doesn't work anymore (you see my thread). after install i recommend upgrading your os, as snow leopard doesn't have any updates anymore. hope this helps
