Hey there.
I have an iPod Touch (2nd generation) and just got a new iPod Touch.
Wondering how I could transfer my music from my 2nd gen to my new iPod?

I've spent a long while today searching for some free programs that will, if even just, let me transfer my music to my Mac, and then I can put that onto my new iPod. No luck so far..

Anybody have any suggestions? This is all pretty frustrating by now.

This program just works perfectly. I've been using for a long time now. It's free.

Jailbreak and install OpenSSH from Cydia, then use CyberDuck to copy off the entire /var/Mobile/Media/iTunes_Control/Music folder onto your Mac. Then just drag and drop that folder into iTunes.

.exe

are you sure they had a Mac version for the early version?
everywhere I look I'm only seeing Windows
and judging by your signature, you are a Windows user. !

Yes I am a windows user. I will look for other free programs later for the Mac to help you. Sorry for not knowing you we're a Mac user.

How did the music get on your iPod in the first place?

If from the iTunes Music Store, then you can just re-download it on the new iPod.

Quit being a cheapskate and expecting somebody else to do your work for free.

It's literally ludicrous.

Hey there, mister! This is an old thread.
How am I looking for people to do my work for me? Didn't know that asking if someone already knew of a program was work to others. :)

Also, woah. Why.. Is this.. Why is this forum here? Close down this forum! Why would such a place exist for people to ask for help? What lazy cheapskates would come to such a place to ask questions? What is the world coming to where people help other people with knowledge? Why do we even speak languages? This is all literally ludicrous

You can use iCloud Backup to back up your previous device and then restore the backup to a new device. Your saved messages, email accounts, photos, notes, and other personal settings will be transferred to your new device.
1. Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
2. Turn on iCloud Backup.
3. Tap Back Up Now.
4. Wait until the backup finishes. How long it will take depends on how big the backup is and how fast your Internet connection is.
5. Choose Restore from iCloud Backup from the new one.
6. Enter your Apple ID and password.
7. Choose the backup of your old device and tap Restore. Wait until the device finishes restoring from the backup.
Or you may follow this guide: How to Transfer Music from iPod to iPod touch

You absolute legend :D

I know this is an old thread but it's worth bumping it in case anyone else is looking for this program - it still works on Windows 7 with a seriously old iPod Touch 2nd gen, downloaded 28/10/14

The old version still work? It was bought out and now is being charged to use.

Give up

I tried so far to transfer the data i got in my iPod Touch but all the free version is not free for the life time. Some of them let me 10 songs, some 15, in one word, you can't do that.
