Mouse controls

Is there any apple-official way, to have a better control for my mouse?
Mainly I need to setup the wheel attributes, like how many lines will go in every step etc.
My logitech mouse has very confusing software(bloatware?), I tried many installations without luck, so I just need some additional options to setup the mouse wheel.
Osx provided options in system preferences-mouse pane, does not include any settings for the wheel.
So, how can I setup it, the easiest and freely way?
