Bluetooth headphone adapters

I would like to be able to use the new Apple ear buds with a bluetooth adapter (and before anyone tells me what poor quality they are, they suit the purpose I have in mind and I find them particularly comfortable!) So my question is, if I get one of the readily available BT adapters, would I still be able to use the phone answer control on the ear buds or would it be disconnected and I'd have to use the controls on the BT adapter?
