Have Apple Stores announced when on the 20th the 5S will go on sale?

If I remember correctly in years past, it depended on the store but I was wondering since Apple isn't doing 5S preorders, if they were organizing some sort of "release time".

I just tried calling my local Apple Store and there were 10 calls in front of me so I hung up and figured I'd ask here, ha.

I really hate to wait in line to buy the new iPhone 5S. Why doesn't Apple do pre-order for the 5S?
