I have a launch day iPhone 5 that's been having some battery issues (shutting down around 25% and acting like the battery is completely drained) and I was planning to take it to the Apple Store to get it looked at. Due to a busy week, I haven't had time to make a Genius Bar appointment, and when I went to make my appointment this morning, I realized it's launch day and the earliest open appointment is tomorrow afternoon. Unfortunately for me, I also just realized that today is the last day a launch day iP5 can get replaced under the one year limited warranty (if it is, in fact, a hardware issue).

My question is, would they be able to allow an exception for a phone 1 day outside of warranty, or am I out of luck on that front? Would I have any chance of getting seen if I breezed by the Apple Store on my way home from work?

Thanks guys :)
