Apple TV Tethering Issue

I bought a jailbroken apple tv and it needs to be tethered, but I don't know what version to use when I right click. The person doesn't know either. I tried to plug in the Apple TV to my tv, but it stays black and the light just continues to blink. The computer I am trying to use was not the one that was used to jailbreak it.
