Hi everyone,
I've searched online extensively, and I can't find a definitive answer for this. Do all macs have java on them by default? I'm developing a java application for mac, and I'm wondering whether all macs come with the capability to run .jar files out of the factory.

New Macs don't come with Java by default. If an app requires it, you'll get a dialog asking if you want to download Apple's Java SE 6.
AFAIK, there is no way of requesting the newer, more secure versions that are now handled by Oracle.
