Safari top sites auto-update thumbnail

Hey guys, so I select top sites as my homepage on safari which is convenient... but the issue now is that the thumbnails update automatically, which while I thought was a good thing initially- can really get upsetting when it comes to sport sites and similar where the winner is given away due to auto-update.

I've been clicking around but haven't found a solution- any way I can turn off auto update for these sites? Thanks.
