Our rMBP brothers have their own thread, why not us??

I just noticed ordering an i7 iMac in Canada has a 3-5 day wait (as oppose to 24 hours for i5). I hope this is a sign!

I hope so too, but I remember last year around the iPhone 5 launch there were also iMac delay issues, and people said that it was because the iPhones were taking up most of the available cargo space. It might be the same thing again.

With the Mac Pro being updated soon, I like the idea that was pointed out in another thread that maybe Apple will refresh its entire computer line-up except for the Macbook Airs. Here's to October 15 :D.

This might be true if the i5s had a similar shipping delay, but its just the i7s. Apple has a lot to update in the next month. Maybe they'll do a silent refresh of a few models (less popular ones) and then dwell on the rest come October?

I wonder if Apple will release them this year. They already have iPhones and iPads to ship. They don't like to cram too many things in their product release cycle at once.

The Mac Pro will get priority in the Fall over any other Mac. Usually, you will see posts complaining no fresh of "x Mac product" for months before it comes out. I can see the iMac getting refreshed in June or later.

I'm convinced the iMac update will be announced at the final Mavericks press conference.

Posts like this are great. :D I love to quote them! :D :D New iMacs today, woot!

We can also go back and quote the hundreds of threads that were convinced they were coming with the iPhone announcement...in June...in July...in August...in October...

Like I said before, the iMac gets updated once every year. Always. Ain't ever going to change :D

THE SILENT DANCER:

APPLE hits again!

the new iMac has the latest Intel processors, faster graphics, next generation 802.11ac Wi-Fi and faster PCIe flash storage!

;)

I know everything gets updated but sheesh feel like I just bought my current gen iMac just months ago

Hey guys I am still in the market for a new iMac since i sold my late 2009 imac back in May. i guess i did the right thing by waiting, in-spite of losing the more than generous price of the previous gen model.

I already own a macbook 15" retina its a great machine with only one hitch it makes a slight crackling sound when the fan is winding down after playing a game otherwise the machine is running fine. Anyway back to the point if I decide to get the new Imac now i will be getting nearly everything maxed out: 3.5 i7 processor, 16gb of ram, 3tb fusion, and the Nvidia GTX 780M 4GB.

I have always preferred a desktop over a laptop not only for better performance but also for the screen estate. When multitasking (having more than window open) or using a word processor i feel limited on my laptop screen.

I am anxious to get another imac, however my concern is that next years iMac will get the retina display
as per:

a) The 4k maverick wallpaper leaks
b) The implementation of thunderbolt 2.0

This will make me want to sell a less than year old machine again, for a much clearer screen. Based on my macbook retina my eyes strain less with clearer font to read and the movies look amazing on the display. That said should i continue using the macbook pro or take the plunge and buy now and if need be, sell it to invest in another next year.

Could happen next spring, or it could be a whole year.

Chinese 4Ks are appearing for around $700 right now. So maybe the new Macbook + external display is an option.

And it is still a great machine. I love my late 2012 iMac. I'm glad the new models are out for those buying new now.

Yah I gues its because it was months ago (just checked), you know all good with me. Now if a retina was released that'd be a different story I'd probably be angry. Lol
