Rubber gasket getting dented?

Is anyone getting their rubber gasket dented by the sharp edge near the hinges, in the bottom half? It doesn't make much sense because the parts dont seem to touch when we open or close the computer.

The photo is just so you can see the spot im talking about, its not a damaged gasket.
