I'm pretty sure he would have heard Ive's daily bashing on skeuomorphism over lunch since 2007.

He probably never saw ios7 but I bet he set the vision and the ball rolling. Even if his brief was only 1 sentence.

It was passed his time, he was a big fan of the skeumorphism and would have wanted to keep that in iOS imo.

This.

The flat design with ugly icons, he would have thought it tasteless. iOS7 is nothing he would have approved of.

Ah, another of our members who communicates with the dead...and passes along the thoughts of the deceased.

Given the time frame of iOS 7 relative to the time of Job's death...it does seem unlikely he worked on it prior to his death.

That is, unless those who seem to be able to communicate with him passed along his thoughts.

No he's dead.

What does that have to do with it? The question wasn't whether or not he's working on it now...

While it may not have been specific to iOS 7, I'm certain he had conversations about some of the things that made it into iOS 7, whether it be GUI, design or function.

Why is this a poll? Anyways, I'm sure they work on the new iOS at least a year ahead of time (maybe slightly more) but he passed away too long ago for iOS 7 to have been more than some ideas.

No he's dead.
You and others realize that OS work can often take years, right? So while it can likely be the case that he didn't work on iOS 7, the fact that he is currently dead or has even been dead for the last couple of years doesn't mean that he couldn't have worked on some early designs of iOS 7. The shortmindedness of some replies is just amazing.

Certain parts of iOS 7 were being experimented with in iOS 6 under Forstall. The music app had the volume button that shines differently depending on how you held your phone. That was surely an experiment for parallax etc...

In that recent Business Week interview with Ive and Hair Force One, Jonny mentioned that they started brainstorming on iOS7 last November...

Maybe for the UI makeover but iOS 7 was surely in development before then. They have been working on the 64-bit architecture for almost 2 years or more which would require a lot of changes internally to the OS. No way they threw iOS 7 together in 6 months or so to be ready for the beta.

the GUI for iOS7 was made in 2 weeks (as is obvious) because Ive was too lazy to take it on seriously. It was made for the iPhoneC's colourful vibe and not for 5S/64bit as some here in the forums try to suggest.
