Will Apple replace my 3GS if I pay for a out of warranty repair the battery and the vibrate switch are unreliable. If I just had the battery changed would they swap anyway solving the vibrate issue. Is the battery change option cheaper than out do warranty repair many thanks

$150 for out of warranty replacement vs $79 for new battery for 3GS.

Frankly I would try to find a used 4S for $200-250 than replace 3GS which is running on 4 year old technology.

Unless you can do-it-yourself, Apple will overcharge you for the battery and switch replacement. I'm pretty sure you're looking at about $100 for this repair. Like the user above mentioned, it's not worth it. You're better off buying at 4 or 4S at this point.

Ditch the 3GS and either use an upgrade with your carrier to buy a 5C/5S or purchase a 4s used off of craigslist or ebay.

Even a 4 is a nice upgrade from a 3GS but if you are intent on keeping the phone it would be a great repair project because the are fairly straightforward to work on if you do buy another phone I would also recommend a 4s it's a huge leap forward and will withstand another update as where the 4 may not
