How to change Safari's default home page?

Seems like an easy question? Whenever I connect to a hotspot that requires an access code, the Mac uses Safari to display a login screen and the login does not complete until http://www.apple.com fully loads. And http://www.apple.com takes a long time to load, so I'd like to change this default screen to Google, which loads very quickly.

Where is this default home page stored? And how do I change it?

By the way, this is not, of course the default home page that I can set through the Safari Preferences dialog. This is a different default home page.

That's not what I was asking.

No matter what you set your home page to, when you login to a password-protected hotspot, Safari redirects you to http://www.apple.com after you enter the password. I think http://www.apple.com is Safari's home page default, used by the admin account. I can't figure out how to change it.

Sounds like a new window is opening after you login to the hotspot.

My homepage is Google. This happens on iPhone as well. I've seen it many times; not if you need a WEP key but f you get redirected to a page on the router to enter a password.

How to change Safari's default home page?

I think it's an app default of the browser, just as there's a system-wide default desktop wallpaper which sometimes appears.

In Windows, this would be a registry tweak. I guess it's buried in a PLIST file somewhere.
