Since updating to Mavericks I get a weird Software Install dialogue box every time I start Google Chrome. I tried reinstalling Chrome but I still get the dialogue box. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Chris

The Dialog tells you exactly what to do install Xcode and its command line tools or just the tools. Although I find it hard to believe that Google is distributing software that requires the developer tools installed, must be an extension you have installed that needs the strings tool.

I haven't seen that message on any of the DP or GM's and I don't have xcode.

My guess is that its an extension you have.

Glad I'm not alone. It's fine on my new rMBP which had Mavericks from day one, but on my older machine that I upgraded to Mavericks (and had serious issues with the finder crash loop upon installing) I just started getting it.

Seriously considering rolling back to Mountain Lion...
