So, I'm still kinda new to MacOS and Mac hardware, but after having MBA13 (haswell) for few months I kinda got used to NOT have any problems with hardware or M.Lion.
Got myself a new rMBP15 (2.3, 16, 750m) few days ago, and on top of buggy/slow Mavericks my trackpad 4-finger swipe (between screens, m.control) randomly stopped working 2nd time already.
Fixed by rebooting or unchecking/rechecking swipe options in trackpad settings.
I've noticed there are many posts going back to 2011 models with similar issue.

Is this another Mavericks bug or a model specific hardware issue?
I've never had this problem with Air on M.Lion, and after upgrading it to Mavericks I gave it to my wife, so I can't tell if it'd occur on Air (with Mavericks too).
Appreciate any input.

Sounds like hardware. Try changing the gesture to a 3 finger swipe and see if it still goes out. If it works, its probably something in the software. If it still doesn't work, its more than likely hardware. Take it to apple for a free fix.
