iPhone 5s reception

I bought an iPhone 5s yesterday, and having some trouble with the reception. On my iPhone 4 I had 5 out of 5 circles if 3G was disabled, and 1/5 if enabled. With the iPhone 5s, I have 1/5 both with LTE/Mobile Data disabled and enabled. Does someone have similar experiences, and know what to do?

Get a new phone? That or a signal booster are the only ways to improve it. I've found the iPhone has terrible signal issues. I've tried mine on multiple carriers vs my gs3/4 and it drops out so much more. Considering I live in the middle of a city it ain't much good.
