Changing Mac Screenshots Location

I know this is an old one but despite having followed to the letter the methods below I can't get this done.

I suspect as is often the case that there are little bits of the process missing, like, do I press return after entering the first instruction?

It's obvious if you know as much as the person writing how to do it, which most people including me don't which is why we're asking in the first place.

Which is why many people are unsuccessful when they try it, the writer assumes too much knowledge of the reader.

Just downloaded it but no good, not compatible with my version of OS X.
