I just got my new iMac and my local service provider did the migration from my old mac for me. I have a couple of questions:

1. Why does my startup disk have a grey question mark on it in System Preferences?

2. Why is a Remote device showing up in the Finder sidebar. I do not have a device attached but they did use a SuperDrive to load some of my software disks.

Thank you
Diane

Both are normal and you are fine. If you want get rid of the Remote Disk icon you can right click it and select remove from side bar. It is there in a default install and not because of anything your provider did.

Thank you for your prompt and reassuring reply!
