Hello I have a 15inch aluminum body mbp 2008 just before they released the unibody style
I am running osx 10.6.8 and the processor is 2.8 ghz Intel core duo.

Currently I am running on only 2 gb of ram due to some internal damage in one of the slots. According to the genius bar one of the slots melted to the motherboard causing my mac to not startup after booting so he had to remove it accordingly in order to start properly thus leaving me with only one 2gb stick .

My question is how high can I upgrade with only one slot? And is my mbp still capable of running intense programs like adobe cs, solid works and epicor?

You would need to put a 4Gb sodimm in there. Check to make sure your model supports that size first of course. If not there is no way to upgrade without getting new mobo/repair.
