Quicktime 7.6.6 in Safari 7, issues with captions?

This is very strange-

I have tried Safari, Firefox, and Chrome and it doesnt matter.

I also even tried my windows 8 netbook and it does work... strange.

This is what I see on my mac on mavericks if that matters..



I can't seem to find any options to fix it. Even when I download the file and it still cuts the captions. I clearly need the captions with hearing loss.
