The Air is going to be my first Ipad and I'm planning on taking notes everyday. I've always used a screen protector on my iPhone but I guess it might be better not to apply one on the Ipad.

What is your experience?

I never used a screen protector on my iPhone and iPad.
I take many notes on my iPad all day, every day - using the Lynktec TruGlide Pro stylus for handwriting and drawing.
No problems whatsoever.

I have a screen protector on my iPad mini, though I think it's a little overkill given that I have a folio cover on it also. But at least I know it's not causing any problem with sensitivity, having tried a stylus with and without it.

I, too, have a Lynktec TruGlide Pro (based on an earlier recommendation by GerritV), and find it's way better than any rubber tip model which tend to stick and stutter.
