It seems that my phone randomly reboots at least once or twice a day after I use Touch ID on my iPhone 5S. I know this has been a problem for others. Running 7.0.3 currently.

I've had a hard time seeing it happen (if ever) when I use the passcode entry, but when I use Touch ID to unlock the device it happens and it's really getting annoying.

Is anyone else having the same issue after using Touch ID?

A co worker of mine has a 5S and I have yet to hear him complain about it.

Have you tried resetting all settings, network settings and then restarting?

This happens about once a day for me when multitasking. It seems to be an iOS issue. Search the threads and you'll see how many people seem to be having this problem. I've had three phones so far and all three have had this problem running from and and not from a backup..

my iPhone 5 (NOT 5s) on 7.0.3 (previously 7, 7.0.1) also encounter occasional crashing and rebooting of my phone.

The occurrence is totally random and frustrating. I guess iOS 7 needs some fixing, this rebooting thing is happening way too often.

And since its happening to my iPhone 5, i guess its a software thing.

re

Same thing with my 5S running on IOS 7.0.3.

It goes through this quick reboot process, that shows the apple logo, while shutting down whatever app i was on. I'm convinced this is a touch ID issue, since i never saw this happening when i turned touch id off and switched to manually entering password.

I saw friends with same glitches, very un-apple-like, and am leaning towards software issues rather than the machine itself- prolly embedded in the ios, compatibility of touch id system with the rest of the operating system.

iOS 7 Random Reboots on iPhone 5S - Happens after using Touch ID

I had the same problem with iphone 5s running 7.0.4. Went to Apple Store and they exchanged the phone for a new one. The iphone continues to reboot after using Touch ID. I saw a post on another site suggesting to turn off "Reduce Motion" in Settings-General-Accessibility. Tried it and haven't had it reboot since. Seems to be a work-around for me until they come out with an IOS fix.

Interesting. I've used "Reduce Motion" from day one and never experienced this issue.

I'm curious if folks having this problem would start posting the apps they have "running" and see if there's any commonality. Similar to the reports that Touch ID isn't working with iOS 7.1 b1 and Twitter.

Go into Settings/general/about, scroll right to the bottom, touch diagnostic & usage, then diagnostic & usage data.

If there are any entries in there that are PANIC.PLIST, then your iPhone has a hardware issue and will need to be replaced.

A while back I had a 4s and this kept randomly rebooting, and this was caused by PANIC.PLIST. I was told by a Apple Care agent and also the Apple Genius guy in the Apple Store that PANIC.PLIST's are a sign of a hardware issue (possibly logic board fault) and it can only be fixed by having the iPhone replaced.

The same thing has been happening to me. Probably 2 or 3 times a day. Sometimes it'll happen twice consecutively.

I feel like it might have something to do with if you started your iPhone as a new iPhone or you used a backup from your old iPhone.
I got to this conclusion from the fact that it happens to me (a person who started my iPhone 5S with the backup from my iPhone 4S), but doesn't happen to a friend of mine who started their iPhone 5S as a new iPhone.

Hope this helps.

I agree. New devices should always be set up as new and NO restore to backup for the cleanest operating experience.

I do this with all my phones/iPads and don't see the issues so many others complain about :D
